New BALLUFF Headquarters
Room for ideas and encounter
For the extension of the Balluff company headquarters, designed by the Berlin-based Grüntuch Ernst architectural practice, we were able to carry out the joinery and interior fit-out work. The building follows the guiding idea of an alternation between formal working areas and open, informal zones for movement, encounter and cross-team collaboration. It is structured by the cascading levels of the individual units, a wide central ramp serving as a meeting zone and island-like glazed patios as versatile, green spaces of possibility.
In several central areas we delivered the high-end interior fit-out, from the conception of individual elements through to precise hands-on craftsmanship. In the entrance area we manufactured and installed the representative reception counter as well as bespoke wall and ceiling claddings, which integrate harmoniously into the overall architectural concept.
In the office areas as well as in the Super Flex Area, we delivered numerous tailor-made built-in elements. These include integrated seating niches, functional tea kitchens and large, free-standing wooden seating platforms with fully integrated inductive charging stations for smartphones. They are complemented by bespoke cloakrooms and copy rooms with built-in cabinets. Together, these elements combine functional requirements with a clear, modern design and at the same time create new meeting points for the staff.
The wall and ceiling-soffit claddings in the in-house canteen were finished with matt-black HPL panels – flame-retardant and moisture-resistant – in contrast to the exposed concrete walls. Complementing them are elegant black façade tables and several benches. Outdoors we installed robust, weather-resistant parapet tables that meaningfully extend and visually round off the catering concept.
In the central, large conference room we likewise manufactured and installed wooden wall claddings, including functional perforations for room ventilation and exhaust as well as bespoke door claddings that integrate harmoniously into the wood-clad spatial concept. The folding walls allow the large conference room to be flexibly divided into three smaller areas.
Finally, specially designed white locker cabinets were manufactured by us for the entire building. Each module has its own mailbox and offers staff secure, lockable storage. The central control modules were elegantly inset into matching wooden panels and mounted flush with the wall, integrating discreetly and harmoniously into the overall appearance.
