Flexible room solutions despite a complex hall structure
Often the requirements for working spaces change faster than is feasible in the existing layout. Additional meeting rooms are needed, but so are open zones for project work. In existing buildings there are often structural constraints to contend with. The cable-assembly mid-sized company pema solved this challenge in its production hall with the flexible flomo wall plus sliding-wall system in combination with the cama758 glass partition system.
Back in 2023, our flomo wall partition walls with integrated, removable flomo board whiteboards were already installed at pema, along with the cama758 glass partition system for enclosed offices. To further optimise the areas within the production hall, the flomo wall plus sliding-wall system was deployed: spaces can be flexibly divided, shifted or merged, dynamically adapting to changing requirements.
The old factory hall posed a particular challenge: differing beam heights made standard solutions impossible. With specially developed suspension solutions that took the lowest point of the hall as the reference, the ceiling tracks of the flomo wall plus could be precisely aligned over a running length of around 20 metres – despite height differences of up to 8 cm.
Open, closed, modular – just as required
The combination of open and closed spaces creates clear added value: additional office space and flexible meeting areas were created within the production hall. Three room zones can be combined into a single large unit when required or stowed away in the parking garage to save space. This enables situational working, encourages teamwork and at the same time creates space for focused work.
Flexible furnishing
By combining flexible furnishing with the mobile motu A Plus project tables and the lightweight Xbrick® multifunctional furniture, pema has created future-oriented spaces. The production hall stands out not only through efficient use of space but also opens up new opportunities for collaboration, focused work and creative processes.
Result: A production area that – thanks to intelligent space planning, flexible furnishing and integrated tools for creative work – is not just used efficiently but also creates a modern, inspiring working environment.
