A new era has begun

The new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. The state-of-the-art Terminal 3, complete with comprehensive infrastructure, was built on the site of the former US military base; in parallel, Cargo City South and the adjacent aprons were expanded.

A major milestone was reached with the official completion in April 2026. With piers G, H and J, Terminal 3 will offer capacity for around 19 million passengers a year, setting new standards in comfort, service and architecture.

We are proud to have been part of this demanding large-scale project. Our work included the installation of 480 doors in total across piers H and J, in a wide variety of usage areas – from public zones and office space through to storage rooms and changing rooms. In addition, we fitted almost 100 flush-mounted fire protection elements with sheet-metal facing, precisely integrated into a high-quality natural stone façade, as well as fire protection doors with glass facing in glass facades.

The project placed high demands on fire protection, sound insulation, suitability for damp and wet rooms, and the design quality of the installed elements.

The installation conditions were demanding too: in Pier H, the work spanned two levels over a length of around 400 metres, and in Pier J, three levels over approximately 600 metres. This complex setting called for the highest level of logistical planning, precise coordination and smooth processes.

A key success factor was the close, collaborative partnership with architects, site management and all the trades involved. Our particular thanks go to Fraport AG for the trust placed in us and for the excellent cooperation. This project is an impressive demonstration of how quality, precision and teamwork can bring even the most demanding construction projects to successful completion.
