Sparkassenakademie Stuttgart
The offices of the Sparkassenakademie Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart were to be comprehensively modernised and adapted to the requirements of contemporary working environments. The original two- and four-person offices were not only too small but also no longer met today’s needs for flexibility, communication and quiet retreat spaces. The tight schedule was a particular challenge. Since the Sparkassenakademie was closed only during the summer break, the entire conversion had to be carried out within just three weeks. To make matters more difficult, the work took place on the sixth floor and the lift was too small to transport furniture and building materials.
The consultancy and conceptual planning was handled by designfunktion Rhein-Neckar. Based on a comprehensive workspace analysis and with active involvement of the staff, a holistic new-office concept was developed and implemented. Space has an effect – the result clearly demonstrates this. The Sparkassenakademie’s new office offers a pleasant, modern working environment. The interior architecture places a clear focus on the staff. designfunktion commissioned us with the complex realisation and execution of the conversion.
For the new spatial concept, almost all existing walls and floor coverings were removed. We took on the complete interior fit-out, from installing new doors and individually crafted bespoke furniture through to coordinating all painting and wallpapering work. In addition, generous glass openings were integrated into the dry-wall partitions to create transparency and bring natural light into the newly designed offices.
From our westermann products furniture collection we deployed, among other things, „flomo walls“ with integrated „flomo boards“. The mobile "flomo wall" partitions serve not only as visual screens but also enable a flexible spatial layout. The partition walls are equipped with PET acoustic felt on both sides and ensure pleasant room acoustics. The centrally placed, removable "flomo board" whiteboards support agile working methods and spontaneous collaboration.
A new kitchen with bar area, a round bookshelf in the bright Sparkasse red as well as comfortable, round upholstered seating complete the design concept. Despite the ambitious schedule, the project was successfully completed in record time: just two and a half months passed between the start of planning and the final installation – an impressive achievement that reflects the efficiency and dedication of our team.
