Helmholtz Pioneer Campus Munich

New research centre in Munich

The Helmholtz Pioneer Campus in Munich is a forward-looking research centre for health and the environment. The building has the form of a striking rhombus and is designed to respond quickly and flexibly to constantly changing research teams and their individual needs.

The building comprises four highly flexible laboratory zones that adjoin modern office areas. The striking curved concrete façade is subtly picked up inside by an oak windowsill. Depending on the usage requirements, furniture, tables or benches are integrated into it, enabling informal collaboration, communication and presentation in an almost homely and personal atmosphere. The furniture in oak veneer with elegant black accents combines natural warmth with contemporary design. It creates a harmonious and stylish environment that perfectly suits the light-flooded modern spaces.

To store personal belongings safely and stylishly, cabinets with combination locks were also integrated. Additional wooden platforms grace various areas and floors of the campus. Some equipped with fall protection, these meet the safety requirements while also creating inviting, functional gathering spaces. The integrated tea kitchens, too, were designed with oak fronts combined with worktops in black stone. To improve the acoustics, we additionally installed wooden lamella ceilings in the tea kitchens and lounge areas.

The Helmholtz Pioneer Campus was realised to plans by wulf architekten in Stuttgart. With space-defining measures and high-quality, bespoke furniture – from the sideboards through to the tea kitchens and the acoustically effective wooden lamella ceilings – our solutions make a significant contribution to presenting the campus as a modern and efficient working environment.
