Kronberg Chamber Music Hall
At the Casals Forum concert hall in Kronberg, you can experience music up close. The chamber music hall, one of the world’s first CO2-neutral concert halls, is of outstanding quality and specially designed for chamber music. The design of the music hall focused on a clear vision: it was to create a "pure sound image" that combines "clarity and warmth". It was crucial that the acoustic requirements be met equally from every seat in the house.
To meet these high standards, we used heavy, premium materials such as gypsum-fibre boards with wood veneer and oak for the hall ceiling, the intermediate ceiling on the gallery and the stage sails. The convex and concave walls were also clad in oak. Every joint was carefully closed to ensure optimal room acoustics. Particularly distinctive is the hall’s flexibility thanks to the folded and rounded wooden panels, some of which can be individually adjusted and even rotated about their axis. This adaptability allows the acoustic properties to be perfectly tuned to the various ensembles and the requirements of each performance.
